1968

GTM Founded

GTM — German Technology Motor — is founded in Stuttgart, Germany. Backed by experienced air-movement engineers and precision motor-winding equipment, the company begins production of axial fans for the German HVAC and ventilation markets. The Industriestraße workshop is commissioned, laying the foundation for more than five decades of German engineering.

1985

First Major Expansion

GTM completes its first major production expansion, doubling output capacity and adding dedicated lines for centrifugal fans and industrial ventilators. A new aerodynamics laboratory is established on-site, equipped for airflow, pressure, and acoustic testing. The company secures its first export contracts with distributors across the DACH region, marking the beginning of international growth.

1998

ISO 9001 Certification

GTM achieves ISO 9001 quality management certification and DIN EN ISO 5801 performance qualification, meeting the rigorous requirements for European fan and ventilator standards. These certifications open doors to OEM partnerships with major air handling unit manufacturers. The company also launches its first inline duct fan line, expanding its offering to the building-services sector.

2009

EC Fan Technology

A landmark year for GTM as the company diversifies into EC fans, roof ventilators, and ATEX-rated industrial ventilators. New EC motor and impeller production equipment is installed, enabling in-house manufacture of energy-saving plug fans to IE5 / IEC 60034-30 efficiency classes. GTM's catalogue grows to over 300 models, establishing the company as a full-range air-movement supplier.

2016

International Distribution

GTM establishes a dedicated international distribution network with logistics hubs serving Germany, the DACH region, Benelux, and Southern Europe. Strategic partnerships with regional ventilation distributors are formalized under long-term supply agreements. The company also achieves full ErP 2015 compliance for its fan range, unlocking new market segments in energy-efficient ventilation and building services.

2024

Sustainability & Digital Transformation

GTM launches its sustainability roadmap, committing to a 40% reduction in carbon intensity by 2030. The facility transitions to partially renewable energy sources and extends low-energy EC motor technology across all product lines. The company also completes a digital transformation initiative, integrating real-time performance monitoring and ERP-driven supply chain management.
